Unaccompanied Demonstration Form

To comply with COVID-19 government regulations and for the safety of both our staff and customers, we have introduced Unaccompanied Demonstrations.
To be able to complete an Unaccompanied Demonstration, customers are now required to fill out and hand in the below form
as well as bringing 2 forms of I.D, including your driving licence which has been held for at least 1 year.

Frequently Asked Questions

The following information is to guide you through the collection process. You will receive a copy of this document upon completion of your purchase.
As a dealership we aim to give excellent customer service and make the purchase and collection of your car trouble free.
In order to help you with this process we have outlined some of the key areas below:

Payment terms

With regards to payment of your vehicle you can pay the following ways:

• Bank Transfer (Preferred Method) Please quote your new registration number as payment reference. This should be done the day prior to your intended collection date unless you are collecting the vehicle on a Saturday, in which case please arrange the transfer on the Thursday before collection.

  • Debit Card is acceptable at the time of collection, but we would advise you to contact your bank and inform them of the forthcoming transaction.
  • Credit Cards may only be used up to a maximum of £1,000 per car purchase (we do not accept Amex).
  • Banker’s draft / Building society cheque / Personal Cheques are required at least 10 working days before collection and should be made payable to Crown Motors.

Part Exchange

If you are part exchanging a vehicle, we require the following on the day of collection:

  • Registration Document / V5c If you have misplaced this, please call the DVLA on 0300 790 6802. They will charge £25 and send a replacement within 5 days. You may still collect your new car without this document, but we will require a £500 deposit which will be refunded once you produce the V5c at a later date. Alternatively, you may postpone collection until you have it.
  • Valid MOT Certificate.
  • Handbooks / Manuals.
  • Service Book / Service Receipts.
  • Spare key.
  • Locking wheel nut key (if your current car has alloy wheels).

Insurance

Please make sure you have arranged valid car insurance from the time of collection. If you have ordered a new car, a registration number will be allocated to you in plenty of time so you can arrange this. If it is a used vehicle your registration number will be on your copy of the order form.

Honda Finance​

If you have taken advantage of Honda finance you will need to sign the documents at the time of collection or in some cases before. In order to protect you from fraud you will also need to bring your DRIVING LICENCE. If the driving licence is not available, please bring your passport and two utility bills dated within the last 90 days. Please note that we are unable to release any vehicle without the correct documentation. 

GAP Cover

You have been emailed important information regarding the purchase of GAP Cover in order to give you enough time to make an informed decision. Please simply click on the link “insurance product quotation”, then enter your email address and unlock code, which will be your date of birth as an 8-digit number.

Private Number Plates

You can apply to keep or transfer a private registration number by logging onto:

www.gov.uk/keep-registration-number

This will enable you to transfer the number plate to another vehicle, or retain the registration number for future use. We ask that once you have completed the online process, simply print a copy of the confirmation page and give it to us with your V5c document (this must show your private plate). We can then have new number plates made and fitted for both your new and current car if required.

  • The registration number will be retained in the same name as the registered keeper.
  • The DVLA will charge £80 and will hold the registration number for up to 10 years. We are unable to confirm a collection date for private number plate transfers on used vehicles; however, we do advise that the DVLA can take 2 to 4 weeks to process an application. We will of course keep you in touch with any progress.
